Our first DSLR

We have recently jumped on the DSLR bandwagon here at Vividography and purchased the Canon 55d T2i. The DSLR market has been encroaching on the prosumer camcorder market and has yeilded some impressive results. With people like Philip Bloom and Rodney Charters blazing the trail these "hybrid" cameras have been getting a lot of attention. Basically, it's a still camera that shoots some amazing looking video. Why? The sensor. The size of the sensor on DSLR cameras rivals the sensors in video cameras costing tens of thousands of dollars. A good DSLR can be had for under a grand. These cameras have been considered game-changers by many in the industry.
Now, I don't consider myself and early adopter but after seeing much of the footage these cameras produce I was hooked. Last year I purchased a Jag35 35mm depth of field adapter and I loved it. This is the next step. I was considering purchasing a Canon 7d but when the T2i was announced for $1000 less than the 7d I became a motivated buyer. So far the footage looks great. I especially like the low-light capabilities (always important for event videographers). Stay tuned for some sample footage coming soon!
